the Osmanthus Flower

I was introduced to the Osmanthus tree when I lived in China. I would walk down the streets in October and smell the fragrance of the Osmanthus flower in bloom throughout the city. It will always bring a smile to my face and a sense of peace will always wash over me as I close my eyes and inhale the sweet fragrance of this beautiful flower.

Osmanthus is versatile and can be used in tea, cooking, making perfume and it permeates the air with its fragrance when in bloom. Osmanthus wine is also widely used as a reunion drink in families. In traditional Chinese culture, it is a flower that symbolizes family, joy, serenity and peace. This is what I hope for all parents to experience in their parenting journey.
